Heard of this guy before? It’s for great reason… Saint. Vincent de Paul, was a French Saint, and was recognized globally for his charity work and compassion for the poor.

Early in life he was allegedly captured at sea by pirates and sold as a slave but eventually escaped and headed to Rome to study.

Post studying, St Vincent De Paul was a minister to the wealthy and powerful. His passion was to help feed and nursed the sick & poor. He was most inspired to work with the marginalised and powerless and those who needed his help Through his connections to financial wealth, he helped set up charities to help support his work. Vincent urged his followers to bring justice and love to all people, especially those who were unable to live a full life through body and sickness limitations.

St Vincent’s passion and determination to charitable assistance led to what is now, the Saint Vincent De Paul societies across the globe that continue to this day to help those who are less fortunate.

What an absolute legend, cheers Vincent De Paul!

His special day is celebrated on September 27 each year.
